This webinar will briefly review over major changes in the newly adopted 2022 Energy Code requirements for residential buildings scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2023.

Topics that will be discussed include requirements for: heat pumps; electric ready for mixed fuel buildings; kitchen ventilation; duct sealing; solar PV, including battery storage, compliance options, and community solar; and multifamily buildings. Additionally, information on post-adoption meetings and how to participate and provide feedback on the proposed amendments to the 2022 compliance manuals, forms, and compliance software will be provided.

Amie Brousseau is an Energy Commission Specialist working in Outreach and Education for the Building Standards Office at the California Energy Commission. She specializes in the building envelope requirements, developing resources and training materials to simplify the Energy Code. Amie is the current editor of the Blueprint newsletter. She is a project manager and contract manager. Prior to the CEC, Amie began working with energy efficiency in 2011 doing energy audits and benchmarking for nonresidential buildings. She now enjoys reaching out to stakeholders across California with Energy Code presentations, materials, and information.
