California Schools and Higher Education Leaders to Meet at the Summit

The urgency for sustainable, eco-friendly educational facilities in California is critical. As schools and universities shape future leaders, these institutions must prioritize environmental stewardship. Sustainable facilities—designed with energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation in mind—play a vital role in this mission. By integrating sustainability into both curricula and campus operations, students learn to be responsible, environmentally conscious citizens. Initiatives like recycling and energy conservation, supported by green facilities, reduce ecological footprints while providing hands-on learning. For over 17 years, Green Technology has highlighted best practices for education sector programs by way of the Green California Schools and Higher Education Summit. This essential in person conference will take place at the Pasadena Conference Center on November 13, 2024.

The opening session will be unique this year in line with this years theme; A Collaborative Effort – Pathways to Success. The annual Leadership Awards presentations on November 13 will recognize those meeting and going beyond their sustainability goals. The awards are another way the Summit and its advisory board support and encourage progress towards a better learning environment for the future.
