Established in 1988, LA Lighting designs and manufactures commercial, industrial, institutional, and custom luminaires and retrofit solutions. The company’s sales, engineering, and manufacturing departments are located at our corporate headquarters in El Monte, California, just east of Los Angeles.

LA Lighting is one of the last true “Made-in-America” lighting manufacturers. Every luminaire we sell is designed and built in our El Monte, California factory. Our products comply with Build America, Buy America (BABA) and Buy American Act (BAA) requirements, facilitating their use in government buildings, schools, military bases, and other projects that require Made in America certifications.

Cutting Edge LED Technology
LA Lighting products are built for flexibility, and nowhere is this more apparent than our wide range of lumen packages. We offer color temperatures from 2700K to 6500K, as well as tunable white LED boards that can be adjusted within a wide color range at the push of a button. Colored LEDs (amber, red, RGBW, and more) are available for specialty applications, including pharmaceutical and semiconductor manufacturing. High Efficacy (HE) and High Temperature (HT) configurations are also available, as well as 80+ and 90CRI options.
Our newest innovation is lumen and color selectable systems, which allow users to choose their lumen output or CCT with the flick of a switch, reducing the number of SKUs they carry and providing essential flexibility in the field.
Custom Designs
For 35 years, LA Lighting has built a reputation for taking on lighting challenges that other manufacturers won’t touch. Whether it’s a tricky specification-grade luminaire, a unique retrofit application, or anything in between, we’ll work with you to devise a custom lighting solution that will exceed your client’s expectations. Our custom capabilities include:
• Building luminaires to specific physical requirements, including non-standard lengths or depths.
• Adding or removing holes or knockouts as required for a specific application.
• The use of customer-required proprietary components, such as power connectors or mounting systems.
• Balancing internal components to facilitate weight distribution for mounting purposes.
• The design and application of custom elements like uplight slots, gasketing, louvers, and more.
• The use of specified materials, optics, sensors, or other components.
And when you’re satisfied with your custom luminaire, LA Lighting can offer you added protection by assigning it a unique Custom Design part number (LCD) and a private cut sheet. This prevents easy crosses by competitors and allows you to hold on to a specification for years to come.
LED Retrofits
LA Lighting’s versatile LED retrofit solutions allow you to easily upgrade legacy lighting systems to cost-efficient LED technology. LA Lighting’s retrofit products consist of pre-wired LED assemblies that include boards, drivers, safety cables, and push-in driver disconnects. All necessary hardware, labels, and installation instructions are included. Retrofitting existing luminaires to LED provides a number of benefits:
• Reduces energy use compared to fluorescent and other legacy lighting technologies
• Lowers maintenance costs (no more bulbs to change)
• Preserves existing luminaires when required for aesthetic or design constraints
• Does not require entering plenum, reducing potential exposure to hazardous materials
• Quick installation- most retrofit kits can be installed in five minutes
• Optional controls can maximize energy savings
