CBSC administers the code adoption process for the California Building Standards Code (Title 24, California Code of Regulations). Additionally, CBSC is responsible for proposing and adopting building standards for buildings owned by the state, including those constructed by the Trustees of the California State University and Regents of the University of California. CBSC also develops sustainable building regulations in the California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen), Part 11 of Title 24, for non-residential occupancies not regulated by another state agency. CBSC has a staff of 19 state employees who support 11 commissioners and administer the public code development process.
